10th and 11th grade students who requested Dual Credit English, Civics, Math, and/or Psychology for next year: WVU TECH will be here tomorrow, Thursday the 21st beginning at 8am to register you for Fall semester classes. School counselors will verify that all students meet required-minimum GPAs and/or SAT scores prior to registration. Schedules will be created for the Fall reflecting these course enrollments (after this initial window, schedule changes may not be possible) for the first semester of the 26-27 school year. Please note that some fees may apply at a rate of $25 per credit hour or $75 per class. These courses begin August 18th- prior to the first day of school for RCS. ***Some students taking Dual Credit Psychology will not register for the Fall semester, as there will also be a Spring section of that course offered in early 2027. School counselors will notify the students affected in this situation.

The highly prestigious U.S. Presidential Scholars Program has named Maya Panta as one of the 2026 national semifinalists. The White House Commission on Presidential Scholars program honors some of the nation’s most distinguished graduating high school seniors. Students are recognized for excellence in academics, the arts, and career and technical education.
She was selected as one of three female semifinalists from West Virginia from a national pool of about 6,500 candidates. Maya’s recognition reflects her accomplishments throughout high school, including her participation in the International Science and Engineering Fair (ISEF), the ASME's International Mechanical Engineering Congress and Exposition (IMECE), the National Junior Science and Humanities Symposium, and the West Virginia Academy of Science (WVAS). Her engineering research has focused on thermal fluid sciences and energy technology including innovative heat exchanger designs. She also founded Maya’s Project STEM, a community service project that has provided hands-on engineering activities to hundreds of students in our county. In addition, Maya has actively taken leadership roles in the Science Club, Society of Women Engineers (SWE), cross country, Rho Kappa, We the People, and STEM summer camps.
The U.S. Presidential Scholars Program was established in 1964 by executive order of the president.
Seniors: the senior class group cap and gown photo will be taken Monday, May 18th at 8am on the football field (home side bleachers). Please bring your cap and gown, as well as any cords and/or stoles for the photo (only school issued).
We will dismiss from 1st period. All students are to report to 1st period at the regular time. After our photo, you will do your "senior walk" through the school, culminating in the auditorium. We will have a short meeting in the auditorium that will serve as our final senior meeting before graduation practice. Virtual students are encouraged to attend.
