Flying Eagle Community,
It is with our sincere regret that we announce the passing of one of our finest teachers and friends, Ms. Kaitlin McAlister. Kaitlin has taught Mathematics at Woodrow Wilson High School for the better part of the last decade. Originally from western Pennsylvania, Kaitlin chose to make Beckley, and WWHS, her home. Her dedication to our community was evident in all that she did. Any time the Flying Eagles took the field or the court, you can bet that Kaitlin was there cheering on her students. Her greatest attribute, at least in the eyes of this Principal, was the way in which she treated those around her. Whether it be her peers or her pupils, Ms. McAlister always knew the right thing to say. Her ability to be whoever a student needed her to be in that particular moment was a gift in every sense of the word. People like Kaitlin are impossible to replace. We will move forward, as we must, celebrating her contributions daily. Any chance to help change a student's life for the better is to continue the work that Kaitlin lived for. Ms. McAlister, you will be missed.
