Students in Mrs. Smith's Anatomy and Physiology classes dissected owl pellets this week since they are studying the skeletal system. They had to sort the bones and figure out what creatures their owls had eaten.

Forensic II students in Ms. Snow's class are learning about blood splatter. This week in lab, they created their own synthetic blood and tested how the drops change when dropped from different heights. Next week, they'll learn how velocity changes the splatter and impact patterns.

Happy for the WWHS Science Club! They won 1st place overall at the Fairmont State University Science Showdown today. They each earned a 2k scholarship each. As a team, they also scored 1st place in Biology, 1st place in Earth Science, and 2nd place in Chemistry. The wonderful science teachers at Woodrow Wilson High School deserve an applause as well . These students didn’t gain all these lab skills, critical thinking abilities and knowledge on their own. 🪽 🆙 These students have also been volunteering their time to go to other Raleigh county schools and do STEM activities with younger students (4th-7th grade).
